Books That Don’t Suck: Lost In Italy

LOST IN ITALY by Stacey Joy Netzel

Book review by Alan Nayes

I picked up LOST IN ITALY on the recommendation of a friend. I normally don’t read a lot of romance, but she assured me there was a lot more to this novel than romance. And she was right.

Books that Don’t Suck! Zombocalypse Now (Chooseomatic Books) by Matt Youngmark

HELP!!! I’m a pink bunny and zombies are chasing me!!!

That’s what I kept screaming to myself while I was reading Zombocalypse Now by Matt Youngmark. Yes, you the reader are the main character, a stuffed pink bunny. Yes, zombies are trying to eat you, and yes, if you are a coward like me, you will most likely end up dead.

The cool concept of a Chooseomatic Book is that after each scene, the reader determines what to do next. In many situations, the choices are flee the zombies or stay and try to help victims escape. In many scenarios, you will end up dead and have to backtrack and make new choices

According to the author, there are over 100 possible outcomes.

I’ve never had so much fun reading a book. That’s because Zombocalypse is more
than just a book–it’s an interactive experience unlike anything I’ve ever read.
I absolutely loved the pink bunny, the cop and all of the crazy outcomes.

If you are a zombie fan, or you just love unusual and fun books, I highly recommend.
Matt Youngmark has recently released another Chooseomatic book,Thrusts of Justice. It’s definitely going in my TBR pile.

nightmares will finally win what they’ve been after.

Books That Don’t Suck: Zero Sight and Zero Sum

Books That Don’t Suck

by Rex Jameson

Title: Zero Sight and Zero Sum

Author: B. Justin Shier

Series Score: 4 out of 5 stars. Would definitely recommend to fantasy readers.

This review was only supposed to be for one book “Zero Sight,” but there was a problem: Shier wrote a second book in the series and I loved the first one so I purchased the second one immediately. Now I’m writing a review for both books instead :D !

Girl Blue by Alan Nayes releases today from Samhain Publishing!

Her spirit waited within the stone, ready to live again.

Renowned sculptor Jeremy Copper is determined that his latest work, Girl Blue,
will be his masterpiece. He’s found the perfect stone for it, a rare block of
blue granite from a quarry in Brazil. But this stone is special in more ways than one. The former owner of the great block was a woman named Franscesca, a witch in the 1920s who loved a talented young sculptor. He promised to carve her likeness, but when he betrayed her love she exacted a terrible vengeance and paid for it with her life.

Interview with Creepy Scarlett Creator Graeme Buchan

The term “indie” has been applied to so many forms of art: Music, Film, Dance, Painting… comics. That’s right, indie has been big in the comic book scene for quite some time. Back when Dark Horse comics first started to make a name for themselves and one of my favorite comics, Tank Girl, was just coming into her own. I thought it interesting to introduce the Eclective readership to the creator of an up and coming indie comic, Creepy Scarlett. Ladies and gents of the Eclective ‘Verse, I give you Graeme Buchan.
